Herodotus - Croesis

This excerpt comes from Herodotus, a 5th century BCE writer. He was the first person to try to write down the events of the past and to explain why they had happened. thus, Herodotus has been called the father of history.

Here, Solon, an Athenian, visits king Croesis and they discuss happiness. Look out for the concepts of hubris, hamartia, nemesis, and kleos. (refer to the 9/25 class slides)
